Project Teach at FACTS

My 6th period elective is Project Teach, with Teachers Erica and Christina. Project Teach is an elective that students in 6th and 7th grades tutor younger students from 1st to 3rd grade.
We teach kids about math, reading, and gardening. We make lesson plans and work on activities for the kids. One of the activities that I’m working on is a hand made board game. I thought it was fun and creative.
Another activity we did was making dishes and drinks. In addition, we added some herbs to the dish. For example, we once made ice-cream with mints, which was my favorite out of all the things we made so far.
We partnered up with younger students. Together, we participated in activities such as drawing, making poems about herbs, or studying multiplication with flash cards.
After that, we grew herbs in pots and buckets. If you come to the third floor, you will see many kinds of plants near the windows. Everyone had a lot of fun working on the activities and enjoying themselves. I guess Project Teach is supposed to help me with communication and interaction with other people, or to open up to others as a tutor and learner.
